Coweta District Organization

Who is the Coweta District?  The Coweta District is US, the volunteer leaders and the units within Coweta County.  Our District is no stronger than our leaders.

2008 Info

Coweta District is made up of 21 Cub Scout Packs, 19 Boy Scout Troops, 5 Venture Crews, and 1 Explorer Post.  We have 28 Charter Partners that support these units.  We have nearly 2,000 youth and adults directly involved with Scouting in Coweta County.  Coweta District is one of the five districts within the Flint River Council.  The Flint River Council is comprised of 4 districts serving eight counties (Butts, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson) and serves over 9,000 youth and adult volunteers.

Scouting within Coweta District is supervised by the Flint River Council through the District Committee The District Committee is made up of volunteer leaders who have made a commitment to follow the Mission of the Boy Scouts of America, to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
